Well I was hit with the same problem others have reported,
BT and the BT keyboard continued to work fine. THE FIX was to install 10.1.2, and THEN use a small DCF file to recalibrate (turn on) the WiFi signal. The DCF file you have to get from Avidyne, through a dealer -- very quick to arrange, just call Tech Support. It seems that in some instances the WiFi signal is errantly turned off, and has to be reset.

All hooked up, here in android FltPlan. The red ellipse marks the new sync button.

I loaded 10.1.2 but haven't tried the wi-fi signal since then. I'm leaving for Florida in the morning. Will I be able to get the DCF file from the Avidyne booth at SnF? David Bunin |

The lack of WiFi for some people is a real problem. We're not quite sure how it happened to some IFDs (most have not been affected) but our Tech Support does have a solution for anyone affected as Orest notes.
It is a re-cal file that gets run via USB fob and takes about 2 seconds to complete. As a side note, we did put a change into Release 10.2.0.0 that automatically re-cals everybody's WiFi as a pre-emptive measure.

AviJake,
Not sure this helps in your investigation, but I lost my capability when I restored settings that I saved before upgrading my unit. Apparently there was an issue with restoring settings from an earlier software build. Tech support had me try to reload the software, which worked for me. One of the indications for me was that the 12th page in maintenance mode disappeared for me.

Yes, our working theory is that the way we enabled WiFi was to insert the enable command as part of the 10.1.1.0 update. If you restore settings from a save prior to the update, it would roll the WiFi enable setting back out.
We haven't been able to clearly establish that folks who have done a restore and then subsequently don't have functional WiFi have done them from a pre-10.1.1.0 save yet, hence the "not quite sure why" statement.

FWIW, something else for me, I did not do a restore to the in-plane unit.

Jake I had the hardware and software update done and back to me late January 2016', 10.1.1, and I must be one of the unfortunates that the IFD is not providing a useable Wifi signal that I can connect the iPad too. Is there anyway this 2 second fix file can be sent directly to me? It appears that the dealer will charge for this procedure, not to mention a flight over to the dealers airport. Pretty inconvenient for such a small fix...

It appears I am in the lucky majority. My wi-fi works just as it did before the 10.1.2.0 upgrade.
