AC 90-105A (revised Mar 7 2016) may offer some updated guidance.

Look at page A-1 (para A.2.4) that says systems that meet TSO 129 compliance for Part 91 operators and installed per AC-20-138 meet airworthiness approval without further documentation.

We have a Type 2 LOA. Don't know why they don't show it.

Maybe Avidyne needs to prod them on this? It would seem to Avidyne's marketing advantage to get added to the list.
