I was just doing some aviation stuff, and I was trying to download some documents in FF, and kept getting an error message to the effect that you can't download files when connected to an Avidyne IFD unit. Sure enough on the devices pages, there it was.

The odd thing was that I was sitting in my family room. I closed the app, restarted the tablet, even jiggled the cords, no help.

I was about to email support, when I realized that FF had connected to the IFD simulator I was running on my laptop, obviously both were on the same network!

Just a head's up. iOS 11.x, FF 9.4.1.

HMMmmm.. I wonder, then, IF FF is connected to the x-plane simulator if FF will forward position data to the IFD100 sim?  I'll try it tonight.  then I can practice flights on the x-plane sim and FF and THE IFD100... that would be really cool!

I don’t know about X-Plane, but the FSXFlight add on allows ForeFlight to connect to Microsoft Flight Simulator, and it works wonderfully both to practice with an instance of ForeFlight as well as to give instruction to a classroom of students, each of which can see the position of the FSX aircraft on their copy of ForeFlight.
