Quote  Can you halt the sequencing through an OBS'd waypoint, and prevent it from transitioning to GPS guidance further along on the next route segment?  As long as you set up the OBS so that it's a "TO" course, the sequence will happen and cannot be disabled (halted).  If you dial it so that the geometry is "FROM", then you won't sequence.

One of the major uses for holding the flightplan from progressing through an OBS'd waypoint, is to create a semi-automatic hold at a point on a flightplan, mixing HDG for the outbound, and NAV back for the inbound. Of course that is no longer necessary with automatic HOLDs in the 540 (thanks for that!)

But, there are some other uses for this. Perhaps you can consider providing an LSK to stop sequencing in future releases.

We'll see.  We felt very strongly about the current design.   It'll come up again during next release definition meetings but I wouldn't "hold" your breath on that one......

Hmm. Well, maybe in practice on the IFD540 it truly won't be needed any more.
