To the Avidyne folks, can you see this strange terrain resolution on the top part of the screen. It is an area in Eastern France, the airport is LFGA. Is this only a Sim issue or does the real box have the same problem? Could you please verify.

Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

In places where the terrain database doesn't have very good data , you'll see lower resolution presentations like that.  We're not sure about that specific area, though so we'll check with Jepp.

How would this affect FLTA?

Jepp uses various techniques to fill in places where they have no data or to enhance low quality data.  They  ensure that any filled in data is high enough to account for a higher margin of error.  That would err on the conservative side for FLTA.
