Hello Avidyne forum, my name is David Bunin. I am an A&P mechanic and an avionics technician. I bought an IFD540 to install in my Cessna 172, and I am about half way through with the installation. So far, my focus and concentration have been on getting the system installed. This is a from-nothing installation, not a replacement of any existing equipment. So it's a big project for me. Once I get the airplane flying again, I will demote myself to student-pilot until I gain operational experience with the new equipment. Does this forum know of any pilots in the Dallas area (I live in Rockwall, on the East side) who have Avidyne experience and might be interested in flying around with me to show me the ropes? I have been watching the online videos, and I downloaded the simulator, but I still think that flight experience will be very important. Ultimately, I will need to fly some approaches and get IFR current again. David |
