Doesn't sound good.  Have your installer call tech support.

We've recently experienced serious distortion and loss of the display.  Initially, the display shows various wide horizontal color bands on the map display but the screen jumps around and then is all thin horizontal bands of various colors.  It even goes dark but returns to show the desired display for a moment before being consumed by the thin horizontal bands.   Is this a grounding, software, or mfd failure issue?
