With the current release of our DFC100 autopilot, there is now the ability to create audible tones. We will be expanding the voice and tones with R9.3 and the synthetic vision since we are required to do audible alerts for terrain awareness.
Your recommendations are great and did something similar to your recommendations for AVIO on the Eclipse. We could dig up that code and logic - it was done pretty well. - Mike |

Not sure if this has been discussed before or not...
In addition to our SR22 I fly a light jet, and was wondering if other R9 users would find an audible tone for the altitude alerter (I think its typically a "c" note) useful. I'm used to hearing it in the jet for 1000' to go and for 200' altitude deviations, whereas in R9 you just get the on-screen annunication. Of course you're not climbing quite the same rates in the Cirrus as you are a jet, but I think a tone could help situational awareness in a single-pilot cockpit without being distracting, and it could help the R9 platform move up-market into even larger turbine equipment beyond single turboprops - a market I think it would be successful in. |
