    Posted: 20 Sep 2018 at 6:50am
Hi All,

I'm trying to get my bluetooth keyboard to connect in flight mode.

When I go in the Mx mode I can pair and connect the keyboard but when I exit out it never connects.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Rich

These might be dumb questions, but are you are accepting the wifi/bluetooth question on startup and is bluetooth enabled on the "settings" area of the AUX page?

Yes, both WiFi and Bluetooth are active.

The IFD is connecting nicely to my stratux wireless.

Thanks!

What software version is in your IFD?

Prior to 10.2, I think you had to open a field for text entry, and when you pressed a button on the external keyboard instead of using the on-screen keyboard, it would ask you to confirm you wanted to allow external keyboard input.

Starting with 10.2, you get asked that question right after the IFD boots up.

teeth6 was trying to ask you if you are you ever seeing that screen.

Hi,

No, I haven’t seen either case. I have 10.2.2.

I do have tech support involved and it may be my keyboard.

Thanks!

The keyboards are outsourced. I had to have mine replaced as well, connection was spotty, and there would be a long lag sometimes. The replacement works fine -- in fact now, 80% of my interaction with the IFD is through the keyboard.

I use my keyboard for almost all entries also but I do see that sometimes there is a lag between the button push and the response but other times it is fast.  I don't think it is the keyboard in my case because I noticed on the keyboard for my 540 and also when I got a new keyboard for the 550
