First does anyone have these items installed and functioning?

Right now we can't get the "Satellite Radio" LSK on the audio page to appear on the IFD540 when configured for the MLB700.  The page appears if we set the serial port to a GLD69, but MLB700 setting does not enable it.  I realize the remote can be used to tune the MLB700, but I am curious if this page was also supposed to appear on the IFD540 when connected to a MLB700?

This is the last open squawk at the install shop and we are looking for closure here.  Either the IFD540 can't tune the MLB700 audio channels or there's still a problem somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ryan

IFD540 does not support audio (music) tuning of the MLB700 at this time.  We have it as a candidate feature to add in the future but for now, it's via remote control only.   This was a time-to-market driven reason only.

Next question, how does one get the text of an AIRMET/SIGMET on the IFD540?  (i.e. Icing FL080-200 or SFC-100)

I thought it'd come through like airspace. Click in the area and cycle through the pop-up info, but this doesn't seem to happen.

Is there some area, unknown to me, for the text?

I have the same question (but using the MLB100 series unit as a data source).  I can see the SIGMET or AIRMET and by the color and label, I can see that it is for "Turb"ulence.  But how do I see the altitude?  How do I read the AIR/SIGMET text?

I also expected it to be a pop-up box like the METAR is at an airport.

The IFDs do not support any text readout of the Airmet/Sigmet detail.  As you note, we have the colored line and the type of AIR/SIGMET (e.g. "Turb") but that's it.

It's on the list of contender future features to provide a pop up dialog box with the text but hasn't risen high enough on the list yet.

Jake,

I thought about this some more during my last flight.  To be honest, I don't need to read the whole AIRMET or SIGMET.  Most of the text is a description of the geographical area, which I can see clearly (and frankly, better) on the map already.

The only text I really need or want to see is the altitude for the Turbulence and/or Icing areas.  Maybe you can find a way to paste that information on the map with the report type that is currently displayed?

I don't need the "altitude" information for IFR conditions, Mountain Obscuration, or Convective activity.  I know where those are vertically, and the lateral boundaries (already displayed) are perfectly adequate.
