We are working to clear up this issue and hope to have a resolution shortly. It has to do with the specific requirements for this type of procedure. There are a limited number of these approaches worldwide so I can't say with any certainty.

AviSimpson

1. Can you please specify what the 'specific requirements for this type of procedure' are.

2. You say that there are 'a limited number of these approaches worldwide'. The approaches are not at issue - they are in the Jeppesen NavData update/subscription. It is the RNAV (GPSS) SID's & STAR's that are the excluded for Avidyne equipment but included for Garmin GTN and G530/430 equipment.

3. What is different about NZ procedures that place them in a 'limited number' category?

While we wait for resolution, my PBN operations within NZ are severely restricted. Given the specifications in the iFD Pilot Guide - RNP/RNAV Operations - the present situation is unfathonable and ridiculous.

1. Advisory Circular 20-138d covers the requirements for RNP procedures
2. That was a typo, I should have used procedures in place of approaches.
3. There is nothing different about NZ procedures, this affects all RNP1 designated procedures.

There are many different RNP procedures, we do have those listed in the pilot guide. We are optimistic that this will be cleared up very shortly but until we have absolute certainty, I won't provide further details.

Exclusion of RNP 1 procedures from NavData for Avidyne IFD series:

1. Is there resolution yet? If not, how long?
2. Why is Garmin GTN series and G530/430 not effected?

1. We do have a resolution and the procedures should be available in the Jepp database in starting in January. When there is a definite date, I will share that.
2. They must have already shown that they meet or exceed AC 20-138d?

RNP 1 SID/STAR's have not been included in Jeppesen NavData 1701 (5 January) for Avidyne equiped aircraft in New Zealand. This is disappointing.

AviSimpson

1. Please give an update of progress with this issue.

2. Explain what part of AC 20-138d is not being met by IFD xxx that precludes these procedures from being included in the NavData.

To close the loop on this issue, RNP1 procedures should be available now in the drop down list as of navdata cycle 1703.

Yes, there are plans in the works to support RF legs in a future release. More to come on that.
