540 running 10.2, Skytrax 100 running 4.1. I am getting traffic and wind data (but no TFR data, as mentioned elsewhere), and I'm also not seeing the direction or speed data barbs on reported traffic.   I have seen reports of this working for other people, so I'm wondering why I am not seeing them. For reference, I flew in the area near KDAB last night and saw plenty of traffic, both on my Stratus and on the IFD. But no barbs. What is that about?

Did you have the SkyTrax prior to 10.2?  If so, then your system was probably configured to collect traffic data via the ARINC 429 data stream from the SkyTrax (which means the diamond no-barb symbology, not the triangle with-barb symbology).

You need to go into the configuration screens on the IFD and change the serial data type to SkyTrax Tfc+WX and turn off the ARINC traffic input.

I am getting the TFR data on my screen.  The ADS-B network does not broadcast that data very often, so you might not see it on a short flight.  But if you go to the AUX page that shows you the latency of each type of information, you should see the last time the TFRs were uplinked.

Thanks, David! That turned out to be the problem. I modified the IFD config so that it was using "SkyTrax weather+traffic" (sic; that's not the exact wording) on the RS-232 port instead of "MLB100 traffic" and then I got barbs and TFR data. I didn't see the TFR near the TAY VOR until I was within about 50nm of it, but I'm guessing this is by design.

For those who turned off ARINC 429 traffic, did your IFD100 continue to receive weather? I had to turn mine back on. The IFD100 then gets the traffic also in new format.

I got weather both before and after I made the change. As much as I hate to say it, you might need to engage tech support on this one.

Make sure you also change the RS232 port on both ends to say, "Tfc+WX".
