You will certainly find my question stupid...

If I create a leg between two airports (get automatically a direct to to destination), and if I want to insert an arrival (STAR) approach plus an arrival (ILS or GNSS), I get two destinations, one at the end of the arrival + approach legs, and one immediately after the original departure point.

Consequently, I need, either to delete the initial point inserted as a destination, or create a direct to to start the approach.

Am I doing something wrong, or do we have a strange logic in the system?

(I can insert screenshots if my explanation is not clear)

Cheers,

Dominique

That is exactly as designed.

If your active waypoint is the airport, and you add an approach or arrival, the system can't intiuitviely know whether you still want to head direct to the airport, or which of many waypoints you want to transition to.

If your active waypoint is NOT the airport, then you can add approaches and arrivals, there will not be another instance of the airport created.

Dear Orest,

Thank you very much for this clarification. In fact, never faced this configuration with only two way-points in real life.  It is only when playing yesterday with the simulator that I faced the issue.

It makes sens...
