I have an A-36 and we did the Dynon HDX STC conversion.  On the Avidyne we have it programmed so it shows us the temperature on the top in Celcius.  Whereas the Dynon shows us OAT in Farenheight.  My question is the Dynon shows TAT.  Is this truly TAT?  or is it really SAT or OAT?

Are you going more than 200 kts indicated?  If not, there is no difference.

The Dynon is displaying TAT; actual SAT or OAT would require a separate probe dedicated to the display.

At 150kts, there should be a 3º C difference between the two.   A useful approximation that is easier to calculate than the "real" formulas taught at uni is TAT=SAT + (KTAS/100)^2, where both TAT and SAT are ºC.
