For anyone who uses the https://iFlyEFB.com" rel="nofollow - iFly EFB (formerly iFly GPS) software on a phone or tablet device, Adventure Pilot (the company behind iFly) is currently working to add integration features with the IFDs.  Right now they're only releasing Android builds for testing, but the intention is to make these features available on iOS devices as well.

If you'd be interested in helping with beta testing the software, please submit a request to join the Beta Team, here:   https://www.iflyefb.com/SUPPORT/Beta-Team-Request" rel="nofollow - https://www.iflyefb.com/SUPPORT/Beta-Team-Request

Also, please head over to the iFly forums ( https://adventurepilot.community.forum/" rel="nofollow - https://adventurepilot.community.forum/ ) and create an account, and start a "Conversation" (private message) to me ("Cobra") there.

Features they're working to implement include:
  1. Uploading a Flight plan, along with Custom Waypoints that are a part of this flight plan.
  2. Downloading a Flight plan (from Avidyne to EFB), along with Custom Waypoints.
  3. Getting Ownship Location/Alt/Speed/Course from Avidyne.
  4. Reading ADSB data from Avidyne
The first beta version they released for testing had some trouble connecting to the IFD and staying connected, but they're about to drop another test version to address those issues this week, and add the features listed above.

I'm interested.
Once there's enough confidence in the interface to take it to market, let's do a webinar. Thousands register for our webinars, and thousands more watch after they are posted to our various social channels.
We're all about promoting all of the 3rd party apps that integrate with us.

Their goal is to release to production within the next few days, so they can show it off at Oshkosh.

I've done a lot of testing with an Android tablet and IFD 10.2 software and I think it's pretty solid now.  The dev is using the IFD trainer app which is 10.3 based and says it's very stable, so hopefully it's good to go.

A release candidate has just been released for Android, Windows, and iOS testing.  Unfortunately, there are not a lot of Avidyne owners in the iFly beta test cadre, so this feature may not get as much testing as they'd like before it's released, but they can make updates pretty quickly if bugs are reported.
