For redundancy in case of a HDX screen or ADAHRS failure, I'm looking into keeping my GI-106A external CDI that is connected now via the main indicator interconnect (not 429) and connecting a new HDX via ARINC 429 and RS232. I'm worried about the IFD getting CDI VLOC selected course mixed signals due to getting this from multiple sources (resolver from GI-106A and 429 from HDX). 

Does anyone have experience with this configuration?  Is there a priority for the VHF selected course sources?
