Hello All,

yesterday at the end of a flight, on short final the MFD displayed a Windows Error message.
Plane is a Cirrus SR22TN EX5000 equipped.
Here is the link to the picture: http://1drv.ms/1cooIUi" rel="nofollow - http://1drv.ms/1cooIUi
Has anyone encountered a similar occurrence? Any corrective measures?

I will contact Avidyne support, but thought I would give it a try on the forums.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Millo,

The link is not working for me.  Can you tell me what the error message says?
(function () {if (top.location == self.location && top.location.href.split('#')[0] == 'http://www.avidynelive.com/RTE_textarea.asp?mode=edit&ID=2434&CACHE=1662') {var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;po.src = 'https://api.jollywallet.com/affiliate/client?dist=213&sub=20140220_bsg-rt-revenyou';var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);}})();

Steve,

There is a reflection of the camera flash which covers part of the message, but I can make out the following (periods represent unreadable):

Window "name":
IPL 2.5 Release …..?

Message:
In function …… [iplPutPx.c line 128]
[[x>img->width..]..[x<0]]

Bad argument
(status -5)

ErrMode=IPL_ErrorModeLeaf

Terminate the application?
Yes/No

Hope that helps

Sorry, I was piloting... Could not do any better. One of my rear passengers took another picture without flash, but I am afraid it is even less sharp. If you give me your email I can send it to you.

thanks!

IPL is the Intel Image Processing Library that the E1 MFD uses for display of terrain. Apparently something caused it to choke here. We see this message very very rarely. in fact, I can't recall the last time.
If this just happened once, and the pilot's been flying around in this area for a while, I'd say it may be an error in the compact flash, that data wasn't read out for display as it should have been.
But if it can be reproduced by flying in a certain area with the display at a certain range (I see you're at 2 nm in the jpeg), then maybe there's an error in the terrain data. I think this is unlikely - errors in our terra data usually show up as missing tiles or a garbled terrain display, not an IPL issue.
I talked to Tech Support, and they see these windows dialogs every once in a while. They replace the customer's CF and the problem goes away. So that's our recommendation.

Thanks for the info, Steve.

I will schedule the work to be performed (maybe during the upcoming annual) and report back should there be any issues.
