If you have an external button, this might be quite useful, but otherwise it is buried too deep to be quicker than just entering one numerically, or selecting one through the FREQ button, so the feature is kind of wasted.

Why not have the preset list pop up if:

You push the standby frequency box TWICE. The first push of course brings up the numeric keyboard, I would suggest that a second push should dismiss the keyboard, and bring up the preset list, making it very easy to select one.

Alternately you could have a quickkey defined on the keyboard dialog that pops up, to go quickly to the preset list.
