I hesitate to ask this, for fear that it has been answered previously or that it is somehow painfully obvious, but here it goes.... What are the two holes that I have shown circled in red and yellow near the bottom of the front panel for? The one on the left (circled in red) sure looks like a camera. I thought the other one was a photocell, but the ambient light sensor is in the upper right.  |

The holes could be used with a tiny microphone for voice recognition commands ( change frequency, direct to, mayday 121.5. Maybe IR transducer for a handheld remote control? ------------- Gary-T |

I've figured it out: The IFD-540 is actually running off of an iPhone platform - hence the nice pinch-zoom touchscreen. The hole on the left is the iPhone camera, and the hole on the right is the flash for that camera. These will be used for a new surprise feature to be announced sometime next year called "Aero Selfie" Okay, I'm up waaaaay too late...
