For those with dual 540s I am curious how you manage the data blocks.  With the scrollable blocks, there is now more available spots than we could really need.  I have some data blocks on my top unit and others on my bottom but I find myself, sometimes switching from full map full to datablock view.  I wonder how many keep their top unit on full map view and have all their data blocks setup on the bottom units since they can all be accessed through the scrolling feature. I'm not sure if it is more work to sometimes switch from full map to data block view, or to sometimes have to scroll through the blocks on a bottom unit.  Comments?

We have side-by side dual 540's, and normally only use the RHS in Map + datablock mode, with the left in FMS full screen.  You're right though, there is now a whole bunch of datablock real estate given the scrolling capabilities.

I have dual IFDs and do not use the scrolling feature with the exception that my top IFD has the traffic thumbnail at the bottom so I can switch modes manually.  I need to scroll to use the traffic thumbnail.  I would like the option to have the scrolling return to the top after say 30 seconds.  However, I can see configurations when you would not want it to auto return, so that should be user selectable in the user config page.

I find that I use the split screen only when I need information with my #1 having most of the stuff I use the most.  As I descend into an airport I find that I have the data blocks available as I use time/distance information more in that phase.

I have a steam gauge 6 pack and if I had a PFD, I would configure my IFDs differently and would not need as many data blocks as I have now.
